The quality of the hyaluronic acid products

Allergan an AbbVie Company Logo

At Renatus Clinic, we use the Juvederm series, a hyaluronic acid product by Allergan, a renowned company in the United States. The Juvederm series has obtained approval from the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, and its effectiveness and safety are highly reliable.

The Juvederm series incorporates a unique technology called “Vycross technology,” which results in its distinctive features such as long-lasting effects, appropriate lifting power for specific purposes, low water absorption, high malleability, and excellent tissue compatibility.

Since hyaluronic acid products are introduced into one’s own body, we highly recommend the use of high-quality products like the Juvederm series to ensure optimal results and safety.

Various types of hyaluronic acid

There are numerous options available when it comes to hyaluronic acid injections. The choice of product and injection technique can vary depending on the treatment area. There are three key factors to consider when selecting a hyaluronic acid product:

  1. Firmness of the hyaluronic acid: The level of firmness required will vary based on the injection site. For example, when considering chin augmentation, a firm hyaluronic acid product is typically used since it is injected on top of the bone. Among the firm options, “Volux” is the firmest choice for a more defined chin, while “Voluma” is preferred for a more natural rounded appearance.
  2. Duration of effects: Different hyaluronic acid products have varying durations of effectiveness. For instance, “Volux” lasts for 18 months with a monitoring fee of ¥48,400 tax-inclusive, while “Voluma” lasts for 24 months at ¥45,100 tax-inclusive.
  3. Cost: Price is another important consideration. If cost is the primary factor, “Diamond Fill” is an option with an initial price of ¥11,000 tax-inclusive for 1cc and a duration of one month.

In a consultation with the physician, these factors will be discussed to determine the most suitable hyaluronic acid product for you, considering your preferences.

Here is a comparison chart of different hyaluronic acid products based on firmness (horizontal axis) and duration of effects (vertical axis):

Product (Hardness)
Juvederm Voluma XC High 24+ months
Juvederm Volux XC High 18+ months
Juvederm Volift XC Medium 18+ months
Juvederm Volbella XC Medium 12+ months
Juvederm Volite Soft 9 months (hydration) / 4 months (fine lines)
Diamond Fill Soft 1 month

Please note that the hyaluronic acid concentration and specific characteristics may vary between products, impacting their firmness and duration of effects. The chart provides a general comparison based on the given information.

The difference compared to low-cost clinics

We provide high-quality hyaluronic acid injections with the following features:

✔︎ We use genuine Allergan Japan products.
✔︎ The quality control of the medications is conducted by physicians and nurses.
✔︎ We showcase numerous case photos and do not reuse photos from unrelated successful cases.
✔︎ Our clinic has physicians who have served as internal trainers for Allergan.
✔︎ We have board-certified plastic surgeons on staff.

Using excessively cheap products can pose risks such as:
✔︎ Higher risk of carcinogenic substances in the concentration
✔︎ Rapid depletion of the product
✔︎ Persistent inflammation or infection risks
✔︎ Risks of uneven or lumpy results

For hyaluronic acid injections, we strongly recommend clinics that handle genuine Allergan products to ensure the highest standards of safety and quality.

Hyaluronic Acid Injections Treatment Flow

During the consultation, we will assess and discuss various areas and concerns that can be addressed through our treatments. Here are some common areas and concerns that can be improved:

  1. Facial Wrinkles: This includes lines and wrinkles on the forehead, frown lines between the eyebrows, crow’s feet around the eyes, and smile lines (nasolabial folds and marionette lines).
  2. Lip Enhancement: We can discuss options for enhancing the shape, volume, and definition of the lips, including the upper lip, lower lip, and overall lip symmetry.
  3. Cheek Contouring: If you desire more defined or lifted cheekbones, we can develop a plan to enhance your cheek contour and restore volume to areas that have experienced volume loss.
  4. Jawline Definition: We can explore ways to improve the definition and contour of the jawline, addressing concerns such as a weak or recessed jawline or jowls.
  5. Under-Eye Hollows: If you have concerns about tear troughs or under-eye hollows, we can discuss options for filling and rejuvenating the area, resulting in a more refreshed appearance.
  6. Neck Wrinkles: We can address wrinkles and sagging skin on the neck, offering solutions to improve the overall smoothness and tightness of the neck area.

These are just a few examples, and we encourage you to share any specific concerns or areas you would like to improve during the consultation. Our goal is to propose an optimal treatment plan tailored to your needs and address all your concerns and questions.

Filler Injection

Our physician will perform the hyaluronic acid injections in the desired areas. For individuals who are more sensitive to pain, we offer different options for anesthesia to ensure your comfort during the procedure. These options include local anesthesia, nerve block anesthesia, and nitrous oxide sedation (laughing gas).

The treatment typically takes around 5 to 10 minutes per area, depending on the specific requirements and the number of injections needed. Our priority is to complete the procedure efficiently while ensuring your safety and satisfaction.

After Filler Injection

Immediately after the treatment, you are typically able to apply makeup if desired. If any bruising occurs, it is possible to use makeup to cover it up.

The duration of the effects can vary depending on the specific product used and individual differences. Generally, the longevity of the results can range from several months to up to two years. During the consultation, our medical professionals will discuss the expected duration of the effects based on the chosen product and your unique circumstances. They will also provide guidance on post-treatment care to maximize the longevity of the results.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it possible to undergo treatment on the same day as the consultation?

Yes, it is possible. On the other hand, it is also available to have a consultation only.

Is there any pain during the procedure?

The level of pain may vary depending on the area. The forehead, lips, and tear troughs are considered to be more sensitive areas, but the using of anesthesia can make the procedure virtually painless.

What can I expect after the treatment?

Swelling after the injection typically subsides within a few days. Since the hyaluronic acid product itself contains an anesthetic, the volume will decrease by about 20% immediately after the injection. If there is impaired blood flow, you may experience intense pain and the injected area may become pale. If you experience any discomfort, please contact us immediately. Mild bruising, if it occurs, will be absorbed within a few days and will generally be completely absorbed within approximately two weeks. In the event of an allergic reaction, we will address it promptly, so please let us know if swelling, itching, or pain worsens. If lumps occur after the injection, they can be dissolved with hyaluronic acid dissolution injections, but in most cases, they do not cause any problems without any specific treatment.
For any other inquiries, please contact our official LINE account.

Can you provide the amount of hyaluronic acid injected in each area?

The approximate amounts are as follows, but please note that these are rough estimates and the actual amount may vary depending on the patient.

General Injection Amount
Forehead 4-10ml
Temporal Area 1-3ml
Glabella 0.5-2ml
Upper Eyelids 0.5-1.5ml per side
Tear Troughs 0.1-0.5ml per side
Lower Eyelids 0.5-1ml per side
Glabellar Lines 0.5-1ml per side
-Nasal Root 0.1-0.5ml
-Nasal Bridge 0.2-0.5ml
-Nasal Tip 0.1-0.4ml
-Septum 0.1-0.4ml
Nasolabial Folds 1-3ml per side
Nasal Base 0.3-1ml per side
Cheeks 1-3ml per side
-Upper Lip 0.5-1ml
-Cupid’s Bow 0.5-1ml
-Lower Lip 0.5-1ml
Oral Commissures 0.5-2ml per side
Chin 1-3ml
Neck 2-6ml

How can I make the results last longer?

It is known that areas with good blood circulation are absorbed more quickly. In other words, by doing the opposite, such as avoiding massage, movement, and heat you can slow down the absorption of hyaluronic acid. Additionally, combining it with Botox can suppress muscle movement and delay the absorption of hyaluronic acid.

Can men also undergo the treatment?

Yes, it is possible. Many men patients receive treatments such as hyaluronic acid injections, Botox, and thread lifts. Please feel free to have consultation with us.
